Ridgebury Elementary School is a wonderful school that serves children grades kindergarten through 5th. I went there myself and I feel that it is the best elementary school in Ridgefield. . The school is located on 112 Ridgebury Road in the Ridgebury section of Ridgefield Connecticut. The school has around 530 kids. Ridgebury is also the only elementary school in Ridgefield that has two levels.
During the Revolutionary War there was the Battle of Ridgefield. Some of the fighting took place on land now known as Ridgebury. There is a song known by all Ridgebury students about this time. The lyrics to the first verse are, "As we move through history's pages, we're reminded ore and ore of town known as Ridgebury in the Revolutionary War." Mr. Lebeken, the music teacher taught his to all graduating fifth graders.
The location at Ridgebury School that I took the photograph of and found its exact location is the flagpole located on the top level by the main office entrance. There is a large grassy area around it in the center of the upper parking lot. There are bushes surrounding it.
