Ridgebury PTA Mission

  •  to improve the learning experience provided for each child through enrichment, enhancement and advocacy;
  • to encourage parent participation in their child's education, sharing of individual talents with the school; involvement in the classroom, at home and through extracurricular activities;
  • to continue our financial support of educational programs and materials that enhance the school's existing curriculum; and
  • to support the district wide goals of excellence and the "character counts" initiative for our children.

The Ridgebury PTA is a partnership between parents and teachers working together to promote the welfare of children at Ridgebury. We communicate with our families through our weekly Constant Contact email messages.

We are a volunteer-run organization and are always looking to our parent members to help us reach our goals by sharing their time, energy and talents. We conduct a variety of fundraisers throughout the year to help us provide curriculum enrichment programs, materials for our classrooms and library, and fun activities for our students and families. Many hands make light work ~~ so look for the emails to find out where you can help!

Our Executive Board members and Committee Chairs are listed on our website, so please don't hesitate to contact us for more information.  We look forward to seeing you around the school and at our meetings!

National PTA Mission

The mission of the National PTA is threefold:

  • to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools and before governmental agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting our children;
  • to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
  • to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.
  • For further information, we encourage you to visit the following websites: National PTA and Connecticut PTA
