AHS Community Service
The students at RAHS must complete a minimum of 15 community service hours each semester. This can be done individually or together as a school community. We plan several events throughout the year and all of our students enjoy giving back to their community.
Every fall and spring we work at New Pond Farm, an educational farm in Redding, CT. We set up for their fairs and prepare crafts.
RAHS students also hold a bake sale each year to raise money to buy holiday gifts for children whose families have been devastated by AIDS.
Another of our favorite projects is selling daffodils during Daffodil Days for the American Cancer Society.
We have also planned and executed the Ridgefield Police Dept haunted house at the annual Halloween Party.
In 2008, our students raised $1000 and brought Christmas to a needy Ridgefield bus driver and her family who had fallen on hard times.
Working together for the good of others enhances our lives as well as those we help. Giving back to the community helps each student to maximize his or her potential.
