Frequently asked questions

1.  Will I receive a RHS diploma if I graduate from RAHS? Yes, since the alternative high school is a part of RHS, there is no difference between the diploma earned at either school.

2.  Will I graduate with RHS students? RAHS holds its own graduation ceremony but if a student desires, he/she can receive his/her diploma at the RHS commencement.

3.  Can I participate in sports and clubs? Yes.  Every effort is made to acommodate students who wish to participate in sports or after school clubs at RHS.

4.  Is there transportation to RAHS? There is a bus which brings students to RAHS from RHS after 1st period at RHS.  This enables students to take a 1st period class if they desire and assists with transportation issues in the morning.  If a student needs transportation after school, the bus company (894-8008) and the district transportation director, Rick Lupinacci, must be contacted.

5.  What are the hours of operation?  The RAHS school day begins at 8:35AM and ends at 3:05PM. 

6. What do the students do for lunch? Since there is no cafeteria, students may either bring their lunch or buy it from local businesses in town. The school has a kitchen with a microwave and refridgerator for student use.

7.  What are former students doing now? There are approximately 75 students who have graduated from RAHS in its 14 year history. Each graduate has the opportunity to pursue their desired college, employment, or military career.  Most of our students get admitted to their first choice college, if college is their chosen path. Many of our former students keep in touch with us and are eager to share their successes with our current students. They are grateful for the opportunities that RAHS provided. Career choices of alumni include teacher, broadcast specialist, non-profit service, psychologist, armed service, construction engineer, film maker, nurse, chef, graphic designer, industrial designer, artist, musician/song writer, computer software designer, and many more.
