Summer School 2012
Dedicated to Excellence in Education
Director: Lisa Djonbalic ldjonbalic@ridgefield.org
“The mission of Ridgefield High School is to enable all students to become self-directed and self-reflective learners. We engage all students in opportunities to improve their academic performance, develop their interpersonal skills, and achieve an understanding of their roles and responsibilities as citizens of our democratic society. We create a climate of trust, security, and pride to encourage a lifestyle that nourishes our minds, bodies, and spirits. To that end, Ridgefield High School collaborates with parents and the community to provide a variety of educational experiences which support academic, social, and civic growth in an environment which promotes respect for diversity."
The Ridgefield Summer Learning Institute is a summer program that provides secondary level students with academic improvement and enrichment courses in various subjects. This program includes the participation of certified Connecticut teachers and is sponsored by the Ridgefield Board of Education. It is designed to enable secondary students opportunities to make up credit and successfully complete subjects they have failed during the regular school year. Students may also enroll in a make-up course to raise grades in order to qualify for continuation in a subject area. Enrichment courses offered for advancement are open to qualified students.
